What is your curiosity and creatively restless score? What is your innovation track record? As whole beings, we function with hearts and mind, body, brain and spirit, senses and logic. To amplify ourselves and our ability to imagine, create and innovate, it helps to actively develop all these dimensions.
The Creativity Tapas component of AMPLIFY provides employees with opportunities that go beyond the realm of day-to-day tasks to ‘taste’ something different, experience emerging trends first-hand, collaborate with others and future-proof our own skills.
Creativity Tapas traditionally kicks off during World Creativity and Innovation week. The Hub, AMP’s intranet, will provide details of how to register for the following activities:
Friday 17 April, 2-5pm, CQ25 and online
This hands-on workshop and collaboration project uses music as the medium to demonstrate how digital tools of production are now within the reach of anyone to create content and collaborate on a joint project regardless of location. The goal is for participants to use open-source technologies to compose, record, share, blend musical content and produce the world’s first corporate music album by 15 June. If it’s great, we may even be able to use it in AMP campaigns and projects. See The Hub, AMP’s intranet, the Facebook Group Amplify-The Album or click here for details on how to contribute to The Album.
Friday, 15 May, 3-5 pm, CQ 1 and competition till 9 June
Cakes as sculpture, cultural ritual and micro-business. An exploration of the counter-digital trend and return of the “Maker” culture, and the global Cupcake Camp wiki movement as online collaboration medium for a community with a common interest in cupcakes. Learn, taste, sculpt then create and compete for “most creative cupcake” competition on 9 June, AMP’s 160th birthday. See The Hub, AMP’s intranet, for details on how to register.
Storycraft: Friday 5 June, 2-5 pm, CQ25
An exploration of how stories are the shortest form of creating rapport with people and transferring knowledge. What makes a good story-the crafting and use of stories to amplify your influence, impact and work. Because stories let us experience the lives of others, they hone empathy, perspective and reflection skills both in the process of crafting and telling them, as well as in hearing them. Following the workshop, participants will be invited to contribute to a collage of stories to be shared at AMP’s first live Story Slam on 25 June during the AMPLIFY Festival week. Presented by Shawn Callaghan of Anecdote.
